A couple things...

So, it's been a few days since I last wrote anything. Superficially, it's because I haven't found anything that really piqued my interest, but mostly I think it's because I'm also still trying to figure out exactly what this blog should be about. I think I'd like for it to be a web-diary/log thing, but then again I worry that I'll say something about my job or about my extended family and get in trouble. Would it really be worth it?

Anyway, the weather here is shitty (sorry kids, it really is) and I'm going crazy! I actually looked out the window on the EL and thought it was nice how the snow was falling on the 18-wheeler crawling through traffic...as it passed my train. Something is terribly wrong with this situation.

I've also decided that I'm going to take the GMAT. I'm not exactly sure what the end-game is, but I think it involves earning 100k and not hating what I'm doing. I could be wrong, but my hope is for the best.

Finally, to finish all this up, on the train I also started thinking about all the things I'd like to do/learn. I don't know how the hell I'm ever going to get around to doing them all, but this is the list (not a ranking and not an exhaustive list).

  • Take sailing lessons
  • Take golf lessons
  • Learn to play an instrument (guitar, piano, saxophone, etc.)
  • Publish a freelance travel article
  • Get in shape
  • Study for the GMAT
  • Take the GMAT
  • Write a short story
  • Take the Foreign Service Exam
